MR of the Arms, Legs, and Joints - How to Prepare

On the day of your MR imaging of the arm, leg, or joints, you should plan on wearing loose, comfortable clothing. However you may be asked to change into an examination gown.

Unless instructed otherwise, there are no diet or daily medication restrictions prior to your MR scan.

Be sure to inform your radiologist or the technologist about any allergies, medical conditions, recent injuries and medications. Women should always inform their radiologist or technologist if there is any possibility that they are pregnant.

Consult with your radiologist or the technologist if you have claustrophobia or anxiety.
