CT Arthrogram - How to Prepare

No special preparation is necessary before a musculoskeletal CT arthrography exam. There are no diet restrictions unless a sedative will be given.

You should inform your radiologist or the technologist of any medications you are taking, kidney problems, or allergies to iodinated or gadolinium-based contrast materials. Also, inform your radiologist or technologist about recent illnesses or other medical conditions.

Jewelry and other accessories should be left at home if possible, or removed prior to your CT arthrography exam.
