Prior to your diagnostic digital mammography exam, you should wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to easily remove your shirt. Do not wear deodorant, talcum powder, perfume or lotion under your arms or on your breasts on the day of your exam. These products can appear on the images as calcium spots.
You should continue your diet and medications as usual. Be sure to consult with your radiologist or technologist about any health concerns prior to your digital mammography exam.
Women should always inform their radiologist or technologist if there is any possibility that they could be pregnant.
