Symptoms of varicose veins include heaviness, pain, fatigue, swelling, itching, throbbing, and aching. We offer a variety of treatments and will discuss all of your options with you. These treatments prevent progression of vein disease, provide symptom relief and have pleasing results.
Laser Treatment (Endovenous Laser Ablation)
Laser ablation is a minimally invasive, in-office procedure where laser energy is used to close varicose veins. This provides relief of symptoms and improves appearance. The initial consult, ultrasounds and procedure are usually covered by insurance.
Microphlebectomy
The surgical removal of the veins through small incisions may be performed in a hospital or office setting. Microphlebectomy is often combined with laser ablation or vein stripping. The initial consult, ultrasound and surgery are usually covered by insurance.
Vein Stripping
This is an out=patient, hospital-based surgical procedure to remove the affected veins. The initial consult, ultrasound and the surgery are usually covered by insurance. Although most patients prefer endovenous laser ablation because is it minimally invasive, vein stripping remains an important option for treating some patients. Your physician will discuss the most appropriate form of treatment with you.
Spider Vein Treatment (Sclerotherapy)
A liquid or foam solution is injected into spider or larger varicose veins. The purpose of treatment is for cosmetic appearance and to relieve symptoms of vein disease. Multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve optimal results. The initial consult and ultrasound are usually covered by insurance but treatment is considered cosmetic and usually is not covered by insurance. Our charge is $200.00 per session.
